We Are Back in Buisness!

Well, the Silly Spot is back in business. We found our memory card and I finally have a second to sit down and write.....even if it is in the midst of the two oldest arguing and the youngest climbing on the dining room table. Lots has gone on since the last entry so I am not even going to try and go back and rehash. Except to say that we had our first family picture last weekend and with all of my attempts to have everyone matching and looking good it turned out halfway decent. CJ did decide to play barber and cut his three year old's hair right before hand. My only daughter, my princess, and her hair was ruined. Then again I looked at it again and considering the layered, messy, bob is in my son has some talent! :)

Christmas season is in full swing here in the Schellenbach house. Today we went and picked out a Christmas tree. It isn't the huge trees that I am used to, but it is a cute smaller tree that I think helps us to remember as this year is helping everyone to remember that money is not everything. And that we do not have to have everything extravagant and out there. Although we are not overtly religious at all I think that this holiday is all about helping others and remembering what is important to us......the fact that we have our awesome family and that we are all in good health. That we have a roof over our heads and food at our table and most of all that we have the ability to help others who might not be so lucky. CJ and Kaylee are quickly learning this lesson as we try to give them many opportunities to help.

CJ's first school Christmas concert is coming up and no one is more excited then he is. He has told me that he will be singing loud enough for me to hear him over everyone :) I cannot believe how big my baby is getting! then on that Friday is his school Christmas party. I am in charge of bringing and making craft with 17 kindergartners. I have yet to figure out all the logistics, but it involves glue and scissors so I know that they will be up for it. CJ and Kaylee have also made decorations for our windows. We try to do most of the holidays......sure we could buy decorations, but making our own is so much fun. I will include a picture of the Halloween ones that the kids made. I am also posting some pictures of CJ at hockey.....he tries so hard! He is really improving too!

So the Christmas music has been playing for at least a month. I am almost done with Christmas shopping and I think that I managed not to go overboard this year. I made pajama pants for everyone with mom's help....I have so much to learn from her. I cannot wait until we do the Christmas baking. Someone, I won't mention who is getting a huge basket full for Christmas! It is definitely the best part of the year when we are surrounded by family and friends and also as we look to new beginnings in the new year.

A Little Bit of This and That

Ok, I admit, I cannot stay away any longer...lol! I was trying to wait for some pictures to be developed before I posted. We ordered a memory card for my digital camera and it turned out not to be compatible, so I have had to take all my pictures with a disposable camera. Therefor, some posts will be out of order....I know that the one for CJ's birthday will be late. :( Also a post on CJ's new sport, hockey. Sorry CJ! In the meantime I just wanted to post a few things that have been happening lately.

Last night I asked Miss Kay to put her plate away after dinner and she bowed at the waist and said "Yes, your Highness". Not in a snotty way, just as if she was saying "OK Mom". I had to laugh :)

Drake found a whole box of Cheezits this morning and dumped them out on the carpet. When I got into the room he was backing up (so he could get a running start, something he does while kicking a soccer ball) and running and stomping all over them while laughing. I thought I had my hands full with Kaylee!

CJ got his birthday present, one of those battery powered Jeeps. He has taken both Kay and Drake for a spin. He also proceed to back over his sister by not paying attention. Thankfully, no harm done. Lately he has been very nice to his sister. When picking out his car he had to have one with two seats so that he could drive her around. Then when we were at the grocery store looking at the dollar things he wanted to get her a toy because he has so many and he wanted her to have one that she would really really like. At his kindergarten last week they had a walk for diabetes day and were allowed to wear hats for a donation. He wanted to donate all of his birthday money to the cause. I am glad that we are raising such great kids.....we must be doing something right!

CJ has also become the total little chef. Every week at the grocery store now he goes and picks out a new fillet of fish. My son at six years of age is judging seafood and then he eats it (and likes it :) ). So we have figured out he will either be a pro hockey player or a chef.....both excellent choices.
I hope to have some pictures up for everyone soon!
The positive for today is that CJ starts Spanish class again today. I am so glad that my children are able to learn many different things and try many different things to see what they enjoy.

Happy Birthday CJ and Crandpa!

Happy birthday to my oldest child CJ. I cannot believe that I am the mom of a six year old. He is the brightest, funniest, most caring, silliest, loving, imaginative, wonderful, special little (big) boy in the world. I think that CJ and his dad and I ahve done a lot of growing up together. We have learned many things these past six years and been through many happy and sad times together. CJ had his first school birthday celebration today. He got to share the day with his best friend at school, Curtis. Curtis's birthday is the day after CJ's and since they don't have school tomorrow they both brought in treats today. CJ and I went to Sam's and picked out cupcakes (pirate) for today. Today also happened to e the day of the week that Craig and I go in to help out with his class. So, we got to be there to help him celebrate. Today at his class CJ also had the ticket store which CJ was very excited about. Throughout the month the kids earn tickets for completeing their work and being on good behavior. CJ got an Iron Man activity book and another small toy. To top it all of he won the game of musical chairs and earned another five point ticket :)

After school we all went to the pet store to buy Grandpa (my dad) a fish for his birthday. CJ was born on Grandpa's 50th birthday. I think Grandpa was at the hospital before we even got there that day. We had gotten Grandpa a fish for his birthday a couple of Christmas ago, but it had passed away. Of course CJ picked a green one (green being his favorite color). I think that Granpa was happy with his new friend, so happy he even suggested he would buy CJ one for his birthday so that CJ could be that happy as well. The kids were way acting up at Grandpa's......who knew after feeding them cupcakes that they would be hyper? So, we headed home.

Tomorrow we are taking CJ up to the Mills, which he calls "where the Blues practice" to have some fun in their arcade and play area. Then on Sunday the Mad Scientist is coming for his birthday party. Ever since he saw the TV comercial he could not stop talking about how he wanted a Mad Science party. And what six year old wouldn't be excitged about getting to make his own slime? CJ also invited his class to come, so this is the first year that we will have so many little kids at a party. For this I am glad that we are helping out in CJ's class....we get to know all of his friends and they are all great kids.

I would love to post pictures from today, but I am waiting on a new memory stick for my camera. I will post pictures as soon as possible.

Happy Birthday CJ!!!!!

A little bit of this and that

This week was CJ's first official field trip. His class went apple picking. Craig and I are so lucky to have jobs that allow us to participate in a lot of the things at CJ's school. We both get to go in and help every Thursday with class and we got to go on the field trip. The kids got to pick apples, watch a how about an apple tree, go through a corn maze, and down a huge slide. CJ is already asking to go back and get pumpkins since this is the same farm that we get our pumpkins from. Kindergartners are a species all on their own. :) Craig and I help with center time when we go in, which means we get to work with small groups. It is so funny to listen to them and hear the problem of the day.....last time it was a girls only slumber party and how boys were NOT invited. Oh to be that young and have life be that simple again.

CJ's birthday is coming up soon. He is going to have a Mad Science birthday party. He is very excited! Apparently this "mad scientist" will come to our house and give a attention getting show on science for the kids. Complete with making their own slime at the end. CJ is big on science and ever since he saw the commercial he was hooked. I will write a complete review on that one in a couple weeks after the party. The other story with his party is the cake which of course grandma will be making. He wants this cake to have every single power ranger from every series to be on it. Good luck Grandma!

Sorry if this post comes up kind of jumbled or not as entertaining, but I am recovering from the dentist tonight. I had not been to the dentist in about fifteen years because of some awful past experiences. Well, I needed to get a crown. I was going to do sedation and just sail through. Well, there was no way I was coming up with that amt of money up front. So I had to tough it up and go. Now, I have never had as much as a cavity before, so I had no idea what to expect. It all went well until the numbing started to wear off before the procedure was done. Now it hurts like Heck! I tried to call and get some meds, but they were already closed for the weekend at three pm. So I had to take one of the percocet I have been hoarding since Drake's birth. (I never use all the pills for after birth, I hoard them until really need them.) So now I have one more and the one I took really only barely took the edge off for a short time. A good friend of mine suggested some clove oil, so I will go get some in the morning. Until then I guess I just have to deal with it. :(

The Last Thing I Want to Do After Being Awake for 36 Hours

is deal with my daughter the diaper cream artist. It never fails, if she can get a hold of it, it will be all over the place. So I had just given her a bath and had turned my back to help CJ out with his bath. Turn back around and she had used up the rest of my diaper cream.....it was all over her, all over a dining room chair, the living room table, and the recliner. She was even eating it. I had thought that I had been at the bottom of the jar, but apparently it had an infinite amt of diaper cream left for her to create her masterpieces with. Of course it had to happen at the time that poor Drake has a rash so bad that he has had to sleep with his diaper off for a night. Oh, and this cream is special order, not something you can just find at your nearest Walgreen's. So, I ordered some (http://www.jacksmagicbeanstalk.com/ we always use her cream, it's the best!) and hopefully I can scrape enough out of the old container until the new gets here. Maybe I can put Kay's talents to work and have her paint her little brother's butt.

Happy First Birthday Drake!

Happy Birthday to our littlest little man, Drake. Drake was born one year ago today. He was very anxious to enter the world and didn't even wait for the doctor to get there. Ever since that day we have been blessed with one of the happiest babies I have ever seen. He is also all boy, walking around and jumping on people, he also loves to be tossed around. He loves his big brother and big sister. He also loves to eat. I don't know that he has a favorite food, but he will cry if one of his siblings walks past him with a juice pouch and he doesn't have one. I am also proud to say that we have made it a whole year breastfeeding and that he has had no formula at all :) Drake's smile is totally contagious. We had his birthday party last Sunday and he tore right into his cupcake. His party was dinosaur themed as chosen for him by his big brother. His actual birthday was today and I cannot believe it has been a year already. He is walking more then crawling now too. My baby is getting so big!

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday Mom(Grandma)!

Happy birthday to one of the best mom's out there! My mom is the closest I have seen to Superwoman. She raised her own kids while working full time as a teacher and then retired so that she could watch the next generation of kids, her grandkids. At any point she will be in charge of six kiddos, of whom all but one are under the age of six. And she will be adding two newborns this winter/spring. On top of all this she has many other projects she is working on. I do not know how she does it, I just know that we are very lucky to have her. I only hope that I can be half the mom to my kids that she is to us. Happy Birthday to Mom from us and also Happy Birthday from the kids to one of the best Grandmas in the world!

CJ's First Day at School (otherwise known as crying at the bus stop)

Our oldest, CJ, had his first day of school yesterday. We were all very excited, but no one more so than CJ. He had made a paper chain and had been counting down the days. He got all dressed up nice in his new school clothes and had his new backpack ready (which was almost as big as he is). The big yellow bus came and CJ eagerly hopped up on the steps, turned around and did a few poses (who taught my son how to Vogue?) My mom told me that I would be like all the stereotypical kindy mothers and crying as my first born got on the school bus for the first time. In a twist of irony we turned around to see my mom wiping her eyes saying something about how she couldn't believe he was big enough to go to school. Craig later reminded me that I was not untouched.....that I had been doing the same thing only two days ago. So off our big boy went to school. We went up a few minutes later to visit with him and check out some things at the school. When we got to visit him he was eating a grape snow cone and making new friends. After that Craig and I went out to lunch to celebrate CJ's first day and reminisce his younger years (a whole total of five). Later that day CJ came home on the bus with his big cousin Bryant and again stopped on the steps to pose for his adoring paparazzi. He proceeded to tell us all about his first day and how at every instance he would sit down and a girl would sit next to him. He vowed that the next day he would NOT sit by any yucky girls. He also told us how his new friend had two strikes on the first day.......my son is making friends with the wrong crowd already :) The only thing that didn't go smoothly was that CJ was upset that he got a tiger clap applause instead of round of applause when he told the class his favorite color.

Kaylee wanted to go with her brother so badly.....she keeps saying "I ride the bus when I get bigger". Drake was very excited to see his big brother when he got off the bus in the afternoon. I had also sent chocolates for CJ to give to his bus driver and his teacher, which I thought would be a good way to start the year. Craig told me that boys do not do that and that I was trying to kiss up to the teachers. Hey, a little bit of chocolate as a kiss up bribe or for any other reason is never a bad thing to give. Today CJ came home from his second day of school with his first homework assignment. You would have thought his teacher had given him a ticket to Disney World. It was the first thing he wanted to come home and do. I can only hope that his excitement for learning will continue and that he will always want to do his homework right away. It's a good thing I am an optimist, huh? Although, I do like to think that Craig and I have started CJ on the right path to becoming an independent person with a love for learning and knowledge.

Our Day At The Zoo

Yesterday was our last day before CJ's first day of school. I decided we needed some fun after the recent bad things happening in our lives. So the kids and I, my mom and my nieces and nephews went to the zoo. Our zoo (St. Louis) is ranked one of the best in the country. They have a new exhibit that features dinosaurs that the kids loved. Thankfully the kids were almost on their best behavior....five kids under six, one nine year old, and two adults (one of which had to work the night before and hadn't yet gotten to go to bed). The weather was great and the zoo was not very crowded at all. The kids had a wonderful time! Afterwards we treated them to frozen custard at Spanky's. Here are some pictures of our adventure.

We will miss you Sheba!

Today our beloved dog Sheba, had to be put down. We have known for about a month that she was probably suffering from chronic liver failure. She was fine this morning and hten all of sudden just got really bad (I wont go into details). Sheba was a very big part of our family. Craig and I got her when Craig was still in the army. We got her to keep me company. So we have had her for almost nine years. She has been there through all of the kids being born and was really good with them. Sheba slept with CJ every night. At about nine o clock she would be waiting at the door to his room to go to bed. Just last month CJ gave her a pep talk about watching over the house while he was gone spending the night at Grandma's. She was one of the best dogs you could have. We will miss her greatly. She will always be part of our family.

Murphy's Law

I should have known.....things were going to well....it's Murphy's Law and it will get you every time. We were doing so well getting everything paid off and getting the fixed up. Then it happened.....starting with Sheba getting sick last week and the big vet bill that produced. Yesterday I went to the dentist for the first time in quite a few years. The good news is that nothing is majorly wrong, just a good amt of minor cavities which need to be filled. The bad news is that I am so terrified of the dentist that he told me that I need to go see a sedation dentist. My dream appt right? Go, take a few pills, sleep through the entire thing and wake up with it all fixed. Well, it is going to set us back a pretty penny. The insurance does not cover the sedation part at all and only eighty percent of the work. Thankfully they have a twelve month no interest payment plan that all we need to do is qualify for. Here's crossing our fingers and toes. Last night at dinner going over some differences in Craig's paycheck we found out that he was overpaid and we will now have to subtract that out of our budget as well. However, it would not be right to keep money that really did not belong to us (which they would probably come after later anyway). Then the most disgusting part.....all of our drains backed up and sewer water was flooding the house. So there's more money for the plumber.....I told Craig he needs to consider becoming a plumber for what they charge an hour! :) Thankfully it was only a clog and only took an hour to fix. Now the cleanup begins. We had to go and get a Rug Doctor to clean it all up. I can't get the Dora song out of my head....."Clean up! Clean up! Everybody do their share!" Thankfully everyone's health is in good standing. Except for the mysterious stuffy and runny nose that everyone around here has seemed to catch. I am thankfull that I have been working some overtime and that all this stuff won't put us back to far, it's just kind of disappointing. However as we have all been saying lately "It is what it is". At least I now can use my disposal without holding up a baking sheet to shield me from flying food and we will have some nice clean carpets. :)

I should have knocked on wood.

When I made my last post about nothing going on I should have knocked on some wood. We are now headed the other way. So far there is only one bit of bad news. Our beloved dog, Sheba, is sick. We have had her since we before we got married. She really is CJ's dog now.....she sleeps with him every night and he is in charge of her care. The other day he was giving her a pep talk that she was in charge of the house while we weren't there. :) We noticed she just was not herself and took her to the vet. She got a coupld of shots (vit B and cortisone) and some antibiotics. Then we got a call the next morning from the vet. It seems that he bloodworked showed what seems to be chronic liver failure :( However, he said it could be from the infection. We are hoping with all our might that this is the case. Any good thoughts would be appreciated. She has been a few days on the antibiotics now and seems to be back to her old self, so we will continue with the meds and see how it goes.

Another thing that happened was that I got an early birthday present for Craig. My sister and I went out for dinner and had a great time. It was really nice to spend time to myself and also time with her. While we were out I got this tattoo. I think it turned out really nice. Craig joked with me that if we ever got a divorce, I could just add a jr to the end.

CJ will be going to school soon. He is so excited! Friday we will go to get his school stuff as this weekend is tax free holiday here in MO. I have already bought him some new clothes and he has them all lied up as to what he wants to wear each day the first week. I cannot believe my baby is going to school!

My other baby boy Drake will be one year old in another month. Time is flying by so quickly! He is the happiest kiddo that I have ever meant. He actually took two steps the other day. I am posting all my pictures at the top as I cannot figure out how to put them at the end, but I will include a couple of Drake.

Happy Birthday today to my "baby" sister Erin, who is now expecting her own first baby. :)

A whole lot of nothing.

There is a whole lot of nothing going on at our house lately. For that I am very thankful.....:) The kids are doing well, no big accidents or injuries. We have been playing outside a bunch. It has been really hot, so we have been trying to play in the water a lot. CJ is very excited about school. He cannot wait and already has his book bag picked out. My nephew Bryant will be on the front page of the Post next weekend.....we are all very excited about that! Both of my sisters are pregnant and the kids are anxiously waiting their new cousins. I jokingly told Craig that I was feeling left out and he said "Well, it better stay that way!". Work has not been the greatest for either of us lately, but coming home to the family always makes up for it. I hope to have more to post about soon with lots of birthdays coming up and CJ's first day of school.

Happy 5th Anniversary!

Happy fifth anniversary to my wonderful husband Craig! I don't know how I would make it without him. He definately helps to keep me sane in this crazy thing we call family and in the world. Case in point, my youngest Drake (who is ten months today) is trying to bang on the computer keys to help me tell what a wonderful daddy he is. Craig and I have been together since the end of 1999 and married since June 27, 2003. We had a beautiful wedding with family and friends. Craig tells me I was bridezilla during that time, LOL, if he only knew that he was marrying wifezilla and momzilla. We have been through a lot together. Good times such as the births of our children, buying our own house, fun vacations, and many others. Bad times such as the cancer deaths of my best friend and his dad. It is so amazing to experience life with him next to me. We are different enough that I always learn things from him and his point of view. We are alike enough to have the same main values and goals. Craig is one of the most caring, honest, goal oriented person I have ever met. He is a wonderful father to our three kids. Just goes to show that a short, order loving, logical, intense, hockey player and a tall, spirited, easy going, tree hugging, klutz can have a fairytale ending.

Happy Birthday Kaylee!

Kaylee finally hit the 3 year old mark. According to her she was two going on six. Whenever someone would ask her how old she was going to be, it was six. We had a birthday party for her at a paint your own pottery place. It was mom, dad, CJ, Drake, grandma, grandpa, Susie, and Bill. We had pizza and then a beautiful cake done by grandma. Kaylee had been waiting for her Dora Mermaid cake for over a week. Next came the presents, Kaylee's favorite part. Then we all painted some pottery. Kaylee painted a duck with daddy's help and CJ worked on a green and black skull. Miss Kay's second party was at The Magic House with all her friends. It was beach themed and they ahd fun making octopus hats and sunglasses. The kids also got to decorate their own cup cakes.....talk about sugaring up a child....icing and little cups of m + m's and chocolate chips. Next was again present time, all of them in either princess wrapping or pink bags. I have no idea why she always thinks she's the princess? Kaylee got some great gifts including a dora ermaid tub toy from her brother who was sure she "would just love it" I swear we have some special kids. Next we set them loose in The Magic House. The kids had a blast! When asked what their favorite part was, "all of it". At the end of the day we went outside the house to play in their sand "beach".

I cannot believe that my daughter is three, yet it seemed like she was two forever. Kids really do grow up too quickly. I am so lucky to get the chance to watch this princess grow and her perswonality develop. She is the prettiest little girl in the world. All she has to do is bat her eyelashes at her daddy and she gets her way. She is very independant and also stubborn. She is very spirited and also very loving. She wants to be in charge, but also loves to be held and protected. She loves playing with her brothers, going on walks, singing, dancing, and drawing on anything she can get her hands on, including herself. Her favorite toys are Dora, Princess, Mermaid, and any of her brother's that she can get her hands on. Her favorite color is pink. HEr smile is contagious. Happy Birthday Miss Kay! We love you!

Poop, puke and an early birthday wish

Wow, what a week! Three sick kiddos, one trip to the animal ER, and one trip to the human ER. last Friday we ended up taking Sheba to the pet emergency room for a torn toenail. The kids thought it was very exciting to rush her to the doctor to get her foot fixed. They also thought it was funny that she came home with a bright green bandage and a lampshade type device on her head. Sheba however was not amused in the slightest. (Thanks to my dad to helping out so that I wasn't at the vet dealing with three tired kids and an injured dog) Good news is she is none the worse for the wear and even got a few days of total pampering in. Then this weekend I came home from work one of the mornings, picked up Kaylee and she proceeded to say "Hi Mommy!" and threw up all over my white uniform. So not only am I dealing with baby poop and puke at work, I also now have it at home. Turns out throughout the week all three of the kids would get the stomach bug. Kaylee even woke up one night from sleeping next to CJ and blame him for puking on her when in reality she had puked on herself while sleeping......I felt so bad for the kids. And for my mom who had to deal with the sick kids while Craig and I worked. What are grandmas for.....well that and cleaning dog blood off your new carpet while you rush the dog to the vet......Thanks mom! I feel the absolute worse though for Craig. He also got the stomach bug, but much worse then anyone else. He was sick for about a week and is stil recovering. He ended up spending a night in the ER also. We are still awaiting the results from his cultures (I guess you have to be a nurse to be excited to see what grows out of a bodily function culture). Through all of it, he still went to work and CJ's ball game and did what he had to do. He is a wonderful role model for the kids and myself. Somehow I avoided this round of illness (knocking on wood and going to take my probiotic).
On another, happier note, tomorrow is our dear princess's third birthday. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone, yet it seems like she has been two forever. All she can talk about is her Dora mermaid cake. Tomorrow we are going to get ice cream for lunch and then have a small family party at the paint your own pottery place with some pizza and the dora cake. Then on Sunday she is having a party at The Magic House. I remember the morning she was born having to call Craig while he was out on a route. He wanted to deliver some papers to the depot and I had to tell him we were not going to have time for that :) She was born in the early hours of the morning and it was wonderful, a new baby to welcome a new day......which happened to be Father's Day. Happy early birthday Princcess Mermaid!

Let's Play Ball!

CJ finally got to play his TBall game. We were so excited! He did pretty well and he was a lot of fun to watch. I tried to tell him to stop kicking his feet in the dirt and run faster, but he had it all figured out. He told me, "Mom, the dirt is the smoke from my feet because I am running so fast!". Kids come up with some of the best ideas. Here are some pictures from today.

Me and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Grocery Trip

First let me set the mood by letting you know that today at the gym someone asked me if I was exercising for two (when is that ever an appropriate question to ask a woman?). Also, CJ apparently had to get some things off his chest at three am when he came into my room and told me all about his new computer game for an hour at three am. I usually take the kids with my mom grocery shopping on early Saturday mornings when there is almost no one else in the store. I will not be able to go this weekend because of work, so I decided to go today because they have a buy fifty dollars worth/get ten dollars off coupon. Well, let me tell ya, this is definitely not worth it. The store was packed! Barely room to manuver the huge cart and the three kids. These kids are used to having tons of room to move about in when they go to the store without really making other customers too upset. Oh, did I forget to mention we went after dinner so of course the bunch was tired and cranky. What was I thinking?!?! All I heard was the typical kid whining that I usually escape...and the kids got to hear the mean side of mommy......Miss Kay has actually taken to calling people meanies. We also had problems with stopping things when mommy says stop. Then CJ just up and walked away from the cart without telling me.....his new thing is trying to be sneaky and not letting people see him. Talk about giving mommy a heart attack! So I tell them as punishment that when they get home they must go to bed, which to them is the worst thing in the world, but mommy can be sneaky sometimes too as it was past their bedtime and they were going to bed anyway. Just to put icing on the cake, I forgot to bring my reusable shopping bags......I love my reusable bags! Lesson learned: ten dollars off is not worth my sanity!

Silly moment of today.....Miss Kay running around telling everyone that "Me is the BOSS!" This petite two year old apparently runs things in her world...which tends to spill out into ours :) Don't we all wish that our lives could be as simple as a two year old's is two her?

The Beginning

Well, everything has to have a beginning.......so starts this blog. The main players....Craig (32), Kristin (27), CJ (5), Kaylee (2), and Drake (9 mos). There is always something silly going on at our house......a few minutes ago it was Miss Kay (Kaylee) dancing around on one foot another story) and singing while watching Little Mermaid. Today began like any other day waking up to two kids in the bed.....the number always varies between one, two, and three. Craig was at work......his boss is in town and with that and the high gas prices he has been working a lot. I hope that he is able to get a day off soon.....just goes to show how much he cares about the kids and I, to work so hard to support us. As we were getting ready to go over to grandma's (my mom's) for our usual walk Miss Kay kicked the side of a mirror and cut the bottom of her foot. I put a gauze pad on it and taped it up with blue painter's tape (so much for my nursing skills, huh?) until we could get some other tape. I think she get's the no fear attitude from her dad and the accident proness (is that a word?) from me. Other than that it has been a pretty normal day. At the moment CJ is playing Indiana Jones on the computer, Miss Kay is watching Little Mermaid, and Drake is sleeping......he spent the whole afternoon on mommy in the Becco carrier happy as a lark. He fell asleep in it early though and I fear he will be up earlier tonight to nurse.

Positive thought for today: cuddles from a two year old princess are some of the sweetest there are, seeing the huge grin on your nine month old's face as he charges you and tries to bite your nose with his two teeth lifts your heart, and listening to your five year old son work through game obstacles on his own instead of complaing that the game is too hard gives you hope that you really are doing something right :)
